Hot Fun In The Summertime

Howdy y'all!

This year, I've been blessed to be able to work with the band Candlebox, celebrating their 25th Anniversary (can you believe it??!) I first got to work with frontman, Kevin Martin and crew, for their 20th Anniversary Tour, creating a special 'all-access' tour laminate. For this current tour, I got to design a new laminate pass and a special tour poster. However, it is this poster for the band's July 21-22, 2018 show in Seattle I'm really excited about.

This poster was commissioned by the band for two sold-out shows at the Paramount Theatre, featuring the original lineup playing their debut album in its entirety. I'll admit, this poster job was a challenging one, and thanks to Kevin for pushing me creatively to create a design he thought was 'killer.' Three colors and over 500 prints later, I've got a poster I'm proud to include in my portfolio.

It's been a few years since I've hand printed a job this large, but the effort and minor production set-backs were worth it.

All 500 posters got shipped to the band, but I did hold back a tiny stack of artist proof editions for myself, which will be available for a limited time after the scheduled shows. The poster measures 12.5 x 24 inches, and is hand printed on 100lb Accent Opaque White cover stock.

I was hoping to make it to Seattle for both shows, but time was against me, this time around. I will catch the current touring band in Dallas later in August, which I'm looking forward to seeing and hanging out with, again.

I grew up listening to Candlebox on the radio, back in Abilene, TX, and they had some heavy rotation on the airwaves. The band is super-cool and some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to work with. And they seem to dig my work, as they have come back for more, hahaha.
